President Jimmy Carter 1977-1981

The new IB syllabus for 2010 specifies that your study of Carter should focus on his policies in regional and international affairs; specifically:
Carter’s quest for human rights and the Panama Canal Treaty
To have an understanding of his domestic policies is useful but not essential

Guiding questions:

Regional/International Affairs: (overlap with SL Cold War)
Content: What challenges did he face (internationally and in the Americas); what were his policies and and how effective were they? Carter Focus Task
Analysis: To what extent was Carter a success in foreign policy? Why were his policies divisive? How far did his policies change the direction of Ford's?
